ABOUT US
Traveling Theatre Creating Inclusive Storytelling Opportunities
Our founding story
Mosaic Players is an Illinois-based 501(c) (3) nonprofit traveling theatre company founded on the principle that theater has the ability to facilitate dialogue, foster empathy and build community connections. The organization uses its productions as a means to address issues such as human rights, racism, LGBTQ+ awareness, identity, belonging and social justice. Through the use of storytelling Mosaic believes it can help to promote greater understanding and celebration of the authentic experiences of individuals from diverse backgrounds.
Mosaic's traveling ensemble partners with libraries, schools, churches, community centers, Pride organizations, festivals and other arts venues to provide access to theatre for audiences representing a wide variety of cultural backgrounds. As part of these partnerships, our productions are designed to include humor, heart and creative elements that will encourage discussion while providing safe space for audiences to feel seen, heard and valued. From small, intimate community performances to large scale theatrical events Mosaic remains committed to creating theatre that is both bold and compassionate.
